Richard Gaffney is a dedicated photographer having been active in the profession for over thirty five years, starting as a member of the Ocean county camera club specializing in Black and white  studio portraits.
Richard served as print chairman for many years while earning Countless salon awards, Joined the Professional photographers of America in 1989.

Started River lake photography specializing in wedding and portrait photography in Monmouth County, NJ, Joined the Professional photographers association of New Jersey in 1990 serving as president of the central region in 2002-2003. Richard has taught work shops and given presentations at New Jersey state conventions and out of state professional photographers associations on portrait retouching and artistic approaches in
Imaging.                                                                                                                  Through the professional photographers of America Richard has earned
The master of photography and photographic craftsman degrees and is a certified  Professional photographer, also earning the fellow of photography degree from  PPA new jersey and is a life member receiving there highest award for service and dedication in 2010.Through the years Richard has garnered many photographic awards.                                                                    Through PPA international print competitions including the silver and gold photographer  ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Of the year awards in 2005 and 2007 his images have also been accepted into the prestige’s loan collection of the PPA. In New Jersey state competitions he has earned the Fuji masterpiece, the Kodak gallery awards.             

 

 Best in show, best portrait of the year, best electronic image of the year awards, also receiving the American Society of Photographers State elite award in 2010, Also Photographer of the year  in 2006 and 2010 in the central region for highest average scores in print competitions. Richard was selected by Adobe as a beta tester For Photoshop CS5 and CS6 with images being published in professional Photographers and Photo shop user magazines.
As a photographer, teacher, lecturer and juror the journey through my photographic ​Career has been and will always be exciting, for me the image is everything capturing and creating images of lasting Quality.
